I’m running in the 2016 Skechers LA Marathon for ThinkCure on Valentines Day, Feb. 14th, 2016 in honor of my grandfather Vicente Gabon. I believe in the importance of funding collaborative cancer research right here in Los Angeles at City of Hope and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This will be my 4th marathon.

In Los Angeles nearly 100 people every day learn that they have cancer — changing the lives of entire families in the process.

At winds estimated at 195 to 235 mph, Typhoon Haiyan (or Yolanda) first crashed into Guiuan, in Eastern Samar, then island hopped to Dulag-Tolosa and Daanbuntayan and Bantayan Island in Cebu. Thousands are left homeless, hungry or dead, survivors desperately needing food, water and medical supplies.

The Philippines needs our help. On November 24, 2013, we are organizing a benefit concert featuring live performances, music, and food at the Spirit House on 123 Lincoln Ave, Monterey Park, California 91755, to help raise funds for the victims. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to relief efforts manned by International Rescue Committee and Bagong Kulturang Pilipino, Inc. Come out and support this worthy cause!
