Let me introduce you to one of our favorite wedding coordinators, Dee Lee from Dee Lee Designs out of Pasadena, CA. We asked Dee some cool questions, check below to learn more about her.

How did you get started?
Dee was a teacher for 13 years and was always planning events for the school. When she had two miracle babies she wanted to find a way to capitalize on her skill set and have a flexible schedule. Dee taught herself how to use a camera and started as a second shooter photographer, she loved detail shots! Dee gradually took classes and transitioned into the planning side, she loved it and has been doing it ever since.

Why do you do what you do?
Dee loves seeing the moment of the reveal. You get to see all your hard work come to life. Most importantly you get to see the excitement on your clients face. Their excitement and joy validates why she does what she does.

What continues to excite you about the industry?
As a wedding designer it is always exciting because the client’s wedding is in your hands. You get to create the wedding magic! Dee gets to take their Pinterest board and bring it life. Sometimes she gets to have a blank canvas and those are fun because the design options are limitless.

Favorite Songs?
Dee is very eclectic when it comes to music! Music lives in her soul and really gets her going. Dee’s range is from listening to Tauren Wells (Christian Pop) to Kolohe Kai (Island Music) to R&B music all in one day. If she needs workout music she turns to DJ Wrex on SoundCloud and hunts for something upbeat 🙂

Favorite Food?
Dee loves Gnocchi and Pizza!

Favorite Venues?
She doesn’t have any one favorite venue because she loves creating wedding magic at all of them. Every venue is unique and has a character to them. Dee is a regular at the Langham in Pasadena because she designs all their Holiday Brunches.
