Welcome to our featured vendor series where we dive into some of our favorite professionals and find out who they are and why they do what they do. Let me introduce you to one of the coordinator greats, Megan C. Tinio from Magical Moments by Megan out of Cerritos, CA and serving all of Southern Cali. We asked Megan some cool questions, check below to learn more about her.
How did you get started?
I decided to pursue events in college while studying Communications at UC-San Diego. In my junior year I secured an internship for a woman that was just starting her own company. She tasked me with an event where I was responsible for 100+ vendors and $200K+ of revenue for an annual event that drew 300,000 people in 2 days. My career went a little backwards and that event is still one of the largest events I have ever been a part of. I continued on to do vendor management for street fairs and other community festivals for about 6 years and also spent 2.5+ years as a rental sales rep for a large event rental company in San Diego. At that time, I decided to relocate to the OC/LA area to be closer to my family and Magical Moments by Megan was born in that time of transition. MMM has been in business since April 2017 and we are celebrating 3 years next week! (20th). I love all aspects of events and I love seeing peoples dream celebrations become a reality.
Why do you do what you do?
I do what I do because I believe that special moments and memories with our loved ones are the only thing we can hold with us through our lives on this earth. I believe I was called to help others be able to experience these moments perfectly and stress free thus, creating life’s most Magical Moments!
What continues to excite you about the industry?
I continue to be excited about this industry because every client, every occasion, every team is different. I love getting to know my clients personally and be able to help them develop their vision into a reality. Whether it be a wedding, birthday, or holiday party – I want the memories created to be as seamless for them as possible. Every celebration is different and each time, I get to work with a team of professionals that make my job and the client’s experience something to look forward to.
Tell us more about your business.
With over 12 years in the wedding and events industry, I have dealt with it all. I believe that my experience gives me the ability to anticipate my client’s needs both in the planning process and on the day-of. I am able to think of and prepare for the unseen and put things in place so that when the event day comes, everyone is sure to just relax and enjoy the day! I also have a partnership with a floral + design company that offers my clients the next level of service. By working with MMM, you are getting a planner, designer, florist + onsite experts all in one place!
If it’s any song on DJ’s Wrex’s playlist, I am down. But at a wedding, I love hearing boy bands + twerk songs 🙂
I love food so its always hard to answer this question. But my official answer is sandwiches – or anything in between bread.
Fete the Venue in Costa Mesa is a favorite venue because with my logistics and rental background. I love being able to turn an empty room into a beautiful event space. Fete the Venue has over 7,000sq. ft. of indoor and outdoor space to play with AND comes with free parking (which is a gem for any OC/LA venues!)
